Aberdeen Performing Arts is seeking script submissions on the subject of Spring Awakening for their next Scratch Night on 3rd April 2019 at The Lemon Tree in Aberdeen.

Spring is stirring, new life is bursting into the world and it’s time for another Scratch Night.
Shoots - Scratch Night. This event has passed Show me. Manchester ADP is a theatre company that produce regular script in hand performances of new writing. A Future dystopian world London where we all live underground and only select families are allowed children.
SCRATCH is a twice-yearly event showcasing acts from across the performing arts! What is a Scratch Night? A Scratch Night is an evening designed to give artists the opportunity to ‘test’ out their material on a live audience. Artists will have 20 minutes during which they will perform their act to a live audience.

Script submissions to their Scratch Nights are open to anyone. If you’re submitting a short script, please make sure it is inspired by theme of Spring Awakening and ensure that it is no longer than 10 minutes and written for no more than three characters.
They welcome submissions from Scotland, the UK and internationally. Scripts are chosen primarily based on quality and relevance to the theme but priority is given to writers from the North-East of Scotland, in line with APA’s aim to support local artists. If you are a local artist please highlight this in your email application.
Chosen pieces will be rehearsed in the day and performed on the evening of the 3rd April 2019 at The Lemon Tree, Aberdeen.

Scriptwriters Bath & Co’sNetworking and Scratch Nightwilltake place from 6.30-9.30pm on Tuesday 24 March 2020. Their submissions window – this time for excerpts or short pieces of plays or screenplays up to five minutes long – is now open. It’s free to submit, and successful writers will enjoy free entry to the event.
To apply you must:
be over 18
be able to attend the event in central Bath
visit their website to find out the theme
subscribe to their mailing list
submit no more than one short play or screenplay script or excerpt
understand that entries submitted after 16 March will not be read
Your script must be:
in English
relevant to the theme published on their website
1-5 pages long with no more than 6 characters
formatted appropriately
in PDF or Word format
If your script or screenplay excerpt is selected, it’ll be read aloud at the SB&Co Scratch Night by their auditioned actors, then workshopped with supportive audience members. It’s a great place to be seen and meet new contacts who are on your side.
